Participate in the BIPA Affiliate Program, University of Muhammadiyah Jambi Receives a Visit from the Jambi Provincial Language Office

Jambi – One of the efforts to support efforts to improve the function of Indonesian to become an international language, which is currently being raised by the Ministry of Education & Culture (Ministry of Education and Culture), Muhammadiyah Jambi University participates in the BIPA Affiliate Program (Indonesian for Foreign Speakers) Jambi Branch. Visits carried out by the Jambi Provincial Language Office (KBPJ) is a follow-up to the ongoing BIPA Program.

Visits are held on Wednesdays, (14/9) attended by KBPJ Translator,  Lukman, S.Pd, Wessa Ostika Utami and KBPJ Extension Officer, Leni Sulastri. Meanwhile, from UM Jambi was attended by Vice Chancellor I, Dr. Irmanelly, FEB Lecturer, Hasan Basri, Cooperation Section & IF, Yorina An’guna Bansa, UPT Language, Sylvia Wenny,  and Jambi UM Lecturers Oka Ediansa and Maria Ulfa.

Lukman conveyed that the participation of UM Jambi in the BIPA Program could help complement the functions being mobilized by the Ministry of Education and Culture by internationalizing the Indonesian language through foreign students.

"It is hoped that the BIPA Program will involve campuses", can realize the function of the Ministry of Education and Culture to internationalize the Indonesian language, one of them is on campus because of the foreign student exchange.”

Yorina explained that the BIPA program that will be carried out is by opening short course through online media.

"at UM Jambi alone", BIPA program through short course one or two months to foreign students can be online or offline. Shows other programs such as visitour culture to attract foreign students to the program.” he said

In addition, Irmanelly added the BIPA program which UM Jambi will run in addition to focusing on teaching Indonesian to foreign students, will also introduce the Suku Anak Dalam (SAD) the one in Jambi.
