This activity was initiated directly by the head of IMM UM Jambi, Wawan Nurdyanto. Together with other IMM UM Jambi cadres, Wawan conducted the fundraising action at the Bank Indonesia intersection starting from Saturday, 5 September 2020 until Monday, 7 September 2020 at 14.00 WIB.

"Tuesday, immediately escorted and handed over the aid funds to the victims there, previously we had also contacted the local village head. The total funds we have collected are approx 2 Million Rupiah, and hopes that the funds raised will help the victims of the fire disaster that left them homeless. What's more, at the time of the Covid-19 pandemic, the economy was down so that those who had been squeezed with difficulty making a living because of this pandemic were added by the fire that they experienced moved the conscience of IMM cadres to help others as taught by the prophet Muhammad, the best human beings are those who can be of use to others. " Said Wawan when being interviewed by the PR Team.

At least nine houses were burnt down in the fire in Pematang Rahim Village, Mendahara Ulu District, East Tanjung Jabung Regency (Tanjabtim), on Tuesday (25/8/2020). Although the disaster did not take any lives, but many fires burned the homes of the residents, because most of the houses there were made of wood so the fire quickly spread and grew.

Similar actions have often been carried out by IMM UM Jambi. In the year 2019, they have also contributed clean water, oxygen, face mask, as well as medical personnel to the victims of the fire disaster in Kumpe. And in the month of Ramadan, they work together with Lazizmu to provide groceries as well 1000 free iftar menu.

The tragedy that befell the residents of Pematang Rahim Village is enough to touch our human side. Hopefully these noble actions carried out by students of the Muhammadiyah Jambi University can be an example and a reminder for all of us, that as fellow human beings we should help each other.
