UM Jambi together with BRG and MLH PP Muhammadiyah Implemented the Muhammadiyah Farmer Community Field School

Muhammadiyah Jambi University together with the Muhammadiyah Central Executive Board of Environment and the Indonesian Peat Restoration Agency collaborate in implementing the Jamaah Tani Muhammadiyah Field School (Jatam) Care for Peat (Land Management Without Burning) Jambi Province.

This activity was carried out in Parit Culum II Village, Muara Sabak Barat District, East Tanjung Jabung Regency starting from the date 20 up to you 22 November 2020 with the title “Restore Peat, Restore Humanity. "

There is 3 the participating villages, namely Tempas Jaya Village (Tanjung Jabung Barat), Petanang Village (Muara Jambi), and Sungai Tawar Village (Tanjung Jabung Timur) with total 30 the participant.

The Chancellor of the Muhammadiyah Jambi University also delivered his speech at the opening of the event, he expressed the hope that with this activity, campus friendship with related villages can be better.

In this activity, Mr. Arman as the Secretary of PWM expressed his support for this activity, "Hopefully with (activities) this, can turn the frequent disasters of burning peat into a reminder for all of us to participate and continue to protect the environment. "

Restoration itself is restoring the environment, Where Muhammadiyah has the same program and one vision with the Peatland Restoration Agency, both parties agree to collaborate and an MoU for environmental improvement. The opening ceremony ended with the reading of the declaration with the Jatam Peduli Peat Field School, led by the Secretary of PWM Jambi.

The second day was opened by a speaker from Inagri, Mr Samsul. He provides training on soil elements and the manufacture of fertilizers and husk charcoal to improve soil quality, at the end he explained about land management without burning and invited participants to see the demonstration plot or experimental land in Parit Culum II village..

Lecturers of the Forestry Study Program and the Head of the Jambi UM Study Center also accompanied the participants during the activity, It is hoped that with the participation of UM Jambi it can become an extension of the BRG and MLH PP Muhammadiyah to continue guiding and monitoring the three target villages.
